    I'm not buying it.
Why is safety standing so close? They need to back off and 1 man guide the operator.

    Bud A. Thanks this.

While the forks do need to be lowered, it also could just be camera angle making it look worse than it is. They could be 30 feet from the forks....

    okiedokie Thanks this.

No FB post attached to the article. Likely my ad blocker is hiding FB ads.
Yeppers, turned off my ad blocker and seen a FB ad and went ahead and followed it.

Still, the the linked FB post there is no mention of the driver hitting the containers. It was hit yes, but not by the driver....

Agree. If you aren't there, then it's second hand info.

Well since I was talking about the driver hitting it, you might want to specify that for future reference....

Why does safety do anything? Have you ever tried to have a real conversation with someone from safety? They're like regular people until you talk about their supposed area of subject matter expertise, then it's all obfuscation and misdirection and putting it back onto you.

Seriously, try it sometime. Go ask a safety person something simple, like whether the tandems should be forward or back when driving empty in high winds. Or whether it's OK to use jake brakes when descending a 7% grade in Colorado after the plows and the salt/sand trucks have groomed it. Or whether it's really true that the yellow curve speeds are for cars, not trucks. (Hint: that's a lie. Go look up the DOT docs. They set those for about 5 mph below what's safe for a truck, because they know trucks will tend to go about 5 mph faster than the sign, and cars will go about 10-15 mph faster.)

It might make them mad, but who cares? It's not like anyone ever invited the safety folks to their beer party.
