What is the problem with the transmission now and how is it not related to this rpm/speed problem

Seems to me like you are shifting wrong or something is wrong in the transmission and its not shifting properly. Think you need to find a better mechanic too

You need a clutch, period and a proper grind on flywheel.

    Moving on.

Same tranny and gears as me, except I have 24.5's. I'll write down my speed at 1500 RPM in each gear tomorrow and you can compare it.

How a clutch would cause this under a light load is beyond me.

I am thinking if this is the same trans the mechanic swapped out, it could be an 11 speed with a deep reduction unit and it is stuck in the reduction. These trans have an additional “switch” to take it in and out of a reduction which 10 speed trannys don’t have. In addition to that a few 11 speeds used in off road applications had large gaps or wide ratios, the reason why there is a 55% gap between 6 and 7 gear.

Spent $4k getting whole clutch system and tail bend of the transmission done. Driving the same. The picture I attached is me in 7th gear. Look at the rpm already for that speed, in that gear.

That means I'll be in 8th gear under 30 mph already.

I have no clue at this point.

$4k on a new clutch and everything that has to do with a clutch.... and tail end work on the transmission.

The picture is me bobtailing today on flat surface. I am peaking in 7th gear/1500rpm....which means I'll probably be in 8th gear at 25 mph. Basically there's only a 5 mph increase in speed in gears 6th and 7th from 1000 rpm to 1500 rpm. In gears 8th thru 9th....theres a 10mph increase from 1000 rpm to 1500 rpm.

Whole new clutch system replaced....still drives the same. I have no clue at this point.

In this picture....again....I went from 6th gear at 15mph...to 18/20 mph @1500 rpm into 7th.... So I was in 7th gear already at 18/20mph.

    I went from 20mph in 7th @ 1000 rpm to 25mph @1500 rpm.

I have no clue at this point.....but it's not the clutch.

Is this a new issue? Or new to you truck thats always done it? Was anything else changed? Give us all the details. What does the shop that did the work have to say about it? Was there anything wrong with the clutch? What was the issue with the transmission?
