I’m being sarcastic of course. -

The actual fuel cost for idling 24/7 in a month is $1500-$2700 depending on type of truck. Add in repairs and the unavoidable big hit and you see why I said $3-4000/month. -
In the real world there’s no need to idle 24/7. Anyone buying their own fuel is going to run their operation as they see fit. Me? I’ll check the weather and set an alarm for when the temperature is supposed to start dropping, usually on the hottest days it’s around midnight to 1am. The truck is usually comfortable until 5 or 6 when I’m waking up anyway. If I’m parking in the late afternoon and it’s hot I’ll usually get a motel room anyway because I have no desire to lay around in my truck for 14 or more hours. And with my current averages, every 2 to 2.5 years or so I would be giving up enough payload that equals the $12k price tag for an apu. Your estimated numbers are way off for real world operations, especially your maintenance numbers you keep throwing out. $3k a month is an overhaul every year and $4k a month is an overhaul plus a new dpf and other emission components every year. Simply not realistic.

You do realize that $3,000-$4,000 a month (your numbers) = a new CRATE MOTOR AND NEW 1 BOX EVERY YEAR...!!
