I just don't understand. If the guy was driving next to him, he'd stay in the lane. Why can't they stay out of the breakdown lane?

    Bud A., 062 and Trucker61016 Thank this.

Sorry trailer owners...with duals, if I blow a tire, I am limping it to an exit ramp, not parking on the shoulder...this kind of crash happens WAY to often any more.

And International needs to talk to Volvo engineers about how to safely mount the cab to the frame. We've had a lot of crash stories on the forum with Internationals involved in crashes, and many times the cab is ripped from the frame. But all those Wyoming mega-crashes where you see Volvos that were involved...the cabs are still attached. I would be nervous if I were driving an International LT/Prostar.

I used to run a field service truck in the past. Almost go mowed down by a few idiots on a residential street while making a repair. Even had to fix a skid steer loader on a 3 lane road, maybe 2 feet from a live lane and a couple hundred feet from an entrance ramp. Thankfully the crew sent a flagger out for me to slow the traffic some.

Something always happens whenever a JB Hunt intermodal truck is broken down on the shoulder. Last time it happened on I-80/94 in Hammond,Indiana a Volvo collided with a JB Hunt truck. The Volvo driver was found responsible for the accident but Indiana State Police also cited the JB Hunt driver because he didn’t have his triangles out like was supposed to.

Alot of drivers out there that just are not paying attention to their surroundings. Tho it usually means these accidents happen.

And a lot more drivers just sitting on a shoulder for their 30 minutes brake
I already replied earlier on another thread, when you starting to see truck parking on a shoulder every 2 miles. After 2 hours of driving left lane , right lane , left lane , right lane, you starting to not give a #### about shoulder unless it's cops, or some another vehicle with orange lights (construction, tow trucks etc)

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.
