2011 volvo vnl730 13 speed. I've seen very similar posts and I've read them all but I wanted to make my own and see if anyone has any idea. ANY IDEA would be greatly appreciated!! 5 mechanics, from shops to mobile guys looked and suggested a few things but none of them KNOW for sure.

At first, truck used to jerk a couple times when going uphill with a load (no codes). Thought it was a fuel issue, replaced filters checked lines all good (shop). Issue used to come and go randomly but more often then not it would jerk. (Problem still there). Going on for maybe a year.

Lately, the truck shakes when foot on gas pedal consistently at 60-65mph. Entire cab, steering wheel shakes. When leg go off gas, it stops. Used to shake intermittently maybe every 3 seconds or so but now it's always there everytime foots on the gas pedal. (No codes). No clunking noise or anything.

What I have noticed is when the truck starts to shake the turbo gauge drops about 10psi and stays down, when the turbo gauge picks back up truck stops shaking and runs fine (this was when it used to shake intermittently).

New injectors and cups less then 10k miles ago, new turbo, no grinding from the transmission or any other noise, shifting is smooth. Transmission and differential oil changed said both liked good (shop). Center carrier bearing new (mobile guy thought that was causing the shaking).

Truck has been in the shop for 5 days now, this mechanic said need to replace cab shocks, a bushing in the back of the cab and possibly a transmission replacement (due to all of this the truck shakes). I'm not sure if the jerking and shaking are two separate issues (possible) or if the jerking issue had gotten wise and now its causing the shaking. Losing my freaking mind at this point. ANY HELP would be appreciated.

Just a stab in the dark, BUT Has anyone checked the accelerator pedal wiring and the switch that tells the motor to accelerate when the pedal is pushed down. They can and do wear out over time.

    skipgears and Eddiec Thank this.

I'm going to guess bad injector/wiring.

The pedal assembly has been replaced with a new one from the dealer a few months ago before the shaking issue started happening. I don't remember why it was replaced exactly.

Do you think a bad injector/wiring would cause these symptoms? The jerking was there before and after the new Injectors. (Reason they were replaced was because of hard starting and bubbles in the fuel tank) I was hoping it would've fixed the jerking issue but it didn't unfortunately.

maybe a gasket or o rings up top...bubbles in your fuel would kinda suggest compression is going somewhere it shouldn't be.

Well there's no more bubbles after they replaced the injectors and cups and no codes come up either when it happens. Any idea on the shaking? I appreciate you guys replying, this truck is driving me nuts.

the symptoms sound the same as what my cat engine was doing, stuttering and then it would clear up. boost was down during the stuttering, shook the whole truck until it would fix itself. turned out to be injector seats, air getting into the fuel. I'm not familiar at all with anything Volvo, but it sure sounds deja vu.

The shaking is just as severe. I feel like my tires are going to fall off. I'll let the mechanic know and see what he says tomorrow, my INITIAL thought were it was the injectors or something else fuel related but nobody seems to be able to confirm it. Thank you

I had a 2007 that had a bad wiring harness. It would drive along just fine then it was like someone turned the key off and on. Finally after hitting all those ruts going into Louisville the harness (which was hanging by a thread of wire) finally let go. It definately sounds electrical to me. The bad news is that it can take forever to chase down a problem. In my case he simply grabbed the harness and moved it around and the dash lights flickered. Problem found and solved.
