The pay is average as are the miles. Seems like the goal of 12k a month to achieve bonus is always just a few miles out of reach. I've gotten some crappy live loads and unloads and everyone knows detention pay is a joke. Plus their philosophy is, you can always pc out of a customer to get to a place for your 10. Like...14 hour day is just a suggestion?
They have some quirky rules too.
1. Get Def at oc's otherwise have to buy it and get reimbursed.
2. Get lucky and catch truck washing guys (who don't run any known schedule) at an oc. Otherwise, if truck is filthy enough, take pictures and send to driver manager and beg for permission to get reimbursed for truck wash.
3. If you take a 34 at your home terminal. You must get all your stuff out and turn in truck, get another one when you get back just as if you were taking a few days off.
4. Scan bills from truck and if they don't come thru you don't get paid until you do scan a good copy. So every paycheck has the potential to be missing a load. They don't cheat on the money, but you must keep an eye on it and the paystubs are stupid to read. Shows miles but no load info at all.
My driver manager is the worst communicator ever. Getting info out of him is like dragging a dead body up the basement stairs.
I'm thinking experience with the company and asking other drivers i will get a better handle on how this place works so it may get better.
