Yeah,i get what you are saying.

my take on it is this:
I have never bought a truck with resale in mind.
I buy what I need................not what i might have to sell sometime in the future.

    haycarter and spsauerland Thank this.

But the big fleets buy with a time frame for replacement.....I’ve heard that in past years freightliner guaranteed a buy back price from the largest carriers after a fixed time frame. No mileage penalty. And that came right from the freightliner rep ......

    Same here.
    Fleets get those deals.
For them it is good so they can calculate their costprice per mile before they even buy a truck.

Guess i'm to old skool in that respect.

Bean Jr., Cat sdp and spsauerland Thank this.

Someone on Facebook mentioned that 3 out of 5 people that submitted interest in working for his company had automatic transmission restrictions on their licenses.:eek::eek:

Remember, the number 1 problem of Mega fleets is driver turnover. The AMT is a partial solution to that problem. If they train them into an AMT, they then are less able to jump to another carrier...... Win-win....lose for the driver monkey.

Brettj3876, Bean Jr., MACK E-6 and 3 others Thank this.

The Dafs we get (including Locally assembled ones) get the ZF.
The MX powered T410 gets the Eaton Endurant. (pretty sure there's a 50 tonne GCM limit with )It
the rest of the KW range use the Ultra shift
