So you're running drop axles on the tractor and 3 or 4 axle on the possum belly trailer? Are there scales on your equipment? Learn how to use them. When we go overweight here we just dump it off the trailer. Either open the back door or one of the small legalizing doors on the side if you have those.

I run chips and bark in Washington. We run up to 105,500. When we run into Oregon, we are only allowed up to 102,500. Maybe it's different rules in Georgia?

Just load slow. Don't get in a hurry. That's when you overload.

Typical in the bulk industry, you are not heavy until you have 80k IN the trailer, paid by the ton, the more you weigh the more you make, part of the reason I never want to look at one of those f##king trailers in my mirrors ever again

And that can be found in Georgia Code § 32-6-26 (c)
The rules for permits and how to get them is found in Georgia Code § 32-6-28

I can't link because my source is behind a paywall. The sections are way to long to paste. @Zonno I used to live in Georgia and still have some contacts in the Georgia MCCD! Let me know if I can be of any help!
