Hello fellow drivers,
I had had a CDL since 2014, no speeding tickets whatsoever or moving violations while driving the truck or my car.
Well yesterday I was coming down from Kansas, I live in PA and got ding for going 62 or 64 on a 40 construction zone. Yes stupid of me I was dealing with the gps on phone and it was on a downhill late at night with barely any lights, no excuse I know.
now the officer was very nice and told me I will NOT give you any points but he did have me a ticket of a $143 stating “operated a vehicle in violation of the PA vehicle code on the PA turnpike” on nature of offense. Now on remarks he sis put “64 in a 40 zone. I was in my personal car.
Now my question is, do I just pay the ticket and move on or contact a lawyer? Don’t know what to do it’s my first ever speeding ticket since I have a license since 1995. I was driving my personal car. I see my charge was Regulation of traffic on PA Turnpike. That’s what the triffid citation says under charge.
Thanks for the advice.

Get a lawyer. You do not want a 20+ over speeding ticket on your mvr.
Sirscrapntruckalot, magoo68 and Dennixx Thank this. -
Thanks, even tho there is no points?

If it is no points & a non-moving violation, then i wouldn’t worry about.
honestly with your clean record, i wouldn’t get to crazy worrying about it at all. Just keep your nose clean and in three years it goes away. -
No points because of record and I have a cdl. I can’t tell what kind of ticket is this, I guess is a moving violation. But I guess I’ll contact a lawyer. I try to stay away from things like this, I was just going to declare myself guilty and pay the fine. It I read to never declare myself guilty. -
Never underestimate the power of a $100 dollar wrapped drivers license when presenting it to a leo...

Get lawyer and have it reduced to an equipment violation.
