9/29/2020 -- The Next Western Star - 49X -- Vocational Market Reveal

You can order this truck with a DD15 or DD16. The DD13 will have to wait for the GHG21 certification before it can be offered on this vehicle. In addition, you can spec a DT12 V and a DT12 VX.

If red is your color, you can also spec this with the X12 and X15 from Cummins.

For Cummins you can also spec with Allison and traditional Eaton manual if you'd like, too. Same story for Detroit.

 

For cab options, it comes in day cab as well as a midroof sleeper. Front axle configurations can either be SB or SF. Between the two axle configs, there is a slight difference between the front hood.

One thing you will also note, for you traditional types, you'll notice the side mirrors are no longer mounted on the cab but now on the door. This allows the door to open further and wider. Part of the design allows two points of contact for an upper and lower mounts for the side mirros. It is said to support around 300 lbs.

 

Oh...another important feature for safety is that this platform now offers Detroit Assurance 5.0 available.
