They were switching lanes to make their exit and they clipped my driver side bumper with their trailer. I couldn’t exactly chase them down and they did not stop. I did have the opportunity to take a picture of the trailer license plate with my phone and there is a camera in my truck. I contacted safety and they said send them pictures and they will view the video. That is a hit and run, correct??? I tried slowing down but they just kept merging. Now I’m worried safety is going to try to say I could’ve slowed down more...

They merged into you. Improper lane change. Not your fault.

Your drive cam will show you were slowing down. Sounds to me like you did the right thing.

    OldeSkool and ajp201 Thank this.

I had an idiot run a stop sign a year ago and smashed into my passenger side steer tire. I ended up in a cornfield. Everything I drive is all rural and small towns. There are idiots everywhere, I think they are even more complacent in the country. Oh there is never anything in that intersection they might have ran that stop sign 100 times, just so happens this time he caught up with a milk truck on it's way to a farm. It just so happened it was my unlucky day. I can tell you generally speaking if you arent issued a ticket, you are not at fault, and it doesn't hurt your employment prospects. If you are at fault a ticket will be issued.

I was close to my delivery so I just went there since the guy just drove off and I couldn’t chase him down. I did not call the police. I only called my company.

A jerkoff could get OP for leaving the scene of an accident.

    Sage advice.

And if it hasn't been done yet, report it.

Well with the guy taking off and not stopping after he hit me, what’s the cops gonna do? And it’s reported to safety and they have video evidence
