I drive solo for Crete, doing well. I know there's some teams on one of our Facebook pages, I'll try to remember their name and get you some info. I think teams do well here too, but no direct knowledge.

Man if you could do that I'd appreciate it. I've been trying to find a crete team to talk to on these threads for awhile with no luck. I've even talked to a few crete drivers in person but haven't run across a team yet.

Repower, some companies used this term (to swap trailers with another driver, usually do to emergency Hometime request) I guess Crete/Shaffer's terminology is their own lingo - good thread! Do you get any extra $$$ for a Trailer Swap?

Question for Crete/Shaffer drivers, good thread - will be contacting a recruiter shortly have a terminal in Deland FL near me - I noticed a few dedicated drivers here posting nice weekly net numbers...I like the adventure of OTR unrestricted & run on recaps, are you making more with dedicated over OTR national? a steady 2500-3000+ weekly mile trip would be ideal...

    • Are there mile differences btw Crete/Shaffer divisions?
    • Do any of the trucks offer APU's on board?
    • Do you get sent an actual trip route with the desired lower cost fuel stop within it? (how's this work for showers - my old company was primarily linked with Pilots & I would literally pre-trip to make sure to stop at a pilot for fuel in morning / shower for parking - got my way over 90% of the time) - you still manage to rack up the fuel points no problem for the showers?
seems like a good fleet overall...

Reefer loads tend to be longer loads, but you have to deal with washouts and fueling the reefer. That's why it pays a bit more per mile.

When you are sent a load assignment, you are sent fuel routing as well. You can have it changed if you call in before the first fuel stop, and have a good reason for it, or if it will be a minor change in mileage.

Has it really been 6 months? I have no excuse. Got caught up in the pandemic news, Watching TV and playing poker while quarantining in my truck.
I am still here with Crete Carriers. Several things have changed for me including my dedicated account, my truck, my pay, safety points from Crete, a write up and my experience. 2020 has been a little strange. LOL
I'm working on writing up a summary and want to get back to posting again. The election is almost over...HAHA yea election day may come and go but it will be followed by weeks of recounting and disputed ballots. Maybe, maybe not.
Just had a pleasant drive through the Adirondacks of NY and headed out early for Mechanicsburg, PA tomorrow..
    Forgive my lack of posting

    Part 1

So back at the start of April things had started to slow down due to most of the country shutting down. Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Hand Sanitizer, Sani Wipes and even some meat was in high demand. Could not find the first 4 listed and was limited to 2 packages of meat. Things were kind of crazy and still are.

Crete has kept me running through it all. The miles did slow down a bit and the deadhead increased but man did I love driving during this time. Easy trip planning, extremely limited traffic and virtually 0 construction.

So the last 6 months… At the beginning of May I found out that we were losing the dedicated account that I was on. That Monday I was called and informed of this and was given a few options to choose from. Run roughly the same lanes and instead of Crete I’d be running Shaffer. About the same miles, Same .62c a mile and same home time. Not a fan of the refer running behind my head all day and night. I asked about the info for NE Regional and had them e-mail the info on both to me. I had till that Friday to decide. NE regional with the Crete side appealed to me more and I was able to keep the same Asset Manager and planner. I’ve pretty much been running east of 35 and north of 20 and I’m home every weekend. The miles are good and the pay is a sliding scale based on the miles of the load.

After some communication and trial and error I’m pretty much leaving the house at some point on Sundays and returning home on Fridays. Obviously, some loads may vary a bit. I like the weeks when I pick up in Maine and deliver in IN, KY, MI etc. and work my way back..

Currently in NJ with a delivery in NH tomorrow. Possible load home? I don't have a preplan yet and only 17 hours left on my 70 sooooo
