That doesn't make sense. It's just a flu, so if you're healthy, you're supposed to live through it. At least that's what all my friends who refuse to wear masks say.

well, at my age and my wife's age, and frankly i think EVERYONE, should wear a mask when out in the public venues.

shopping, walking the dog, sitting on the park benches, bicycle riding etc.

i do lower my mask, when there is no one with-in say about 20 feet of me. once that gap starts to quickly close up, then also goes up the mask.

why then, if someone is healthy, and let's take the college kids for example, are they becoming infected with covid, if supposedly they are healthy YOUNG adults?

i don't "see" where this corona virus discriminants against any one age group or health risk group, over another.

i look at it this way, "we wear our masks, you do whatever, but do not expect ANY sympathy from us, should you get infected"

i am not since say, about the age of 10? been a baseball fan. so sadly, i never knew who this man was, but may he rest in peace.

in fact, i am not really any sort of big time fan of any sport, even football, which i try to watch every sunday, but cannot tell you the players, or thier stats, on any one team.

It's not just the flu. Even if you survive, there can be harsh results from just having it, with permanent damage to vital organs. The world just passed the 1 million death mark. This is far worse than any flu. Your friends are just taking risks because they don't know of anyone that has contracted it, or don't beleive it will happen to them. This is why many athletes are opting out of playing this year, because it could end their career if they catch it.

I choose to wear a mask in public. That's my choice and I don't preach to others that don't.
Covid-19 attacks the lungs and can eat holes through the lungs that can't be repaired. Sometimes the patient must have a lung transplant or die.
    That stuff is vicious.
Most people get over it in a week or so, just as if they had the flu, but some don't.
Many people never know they have had it. Antibodies show they were exposed, but their immune system fought it off.

He’s at the age mark where Covid can kill you just like the flu. Just cause you were a athlete 30 years ago doesn’t mean you don’t have underlying health issues now or in shape. Article didn’t say what kind of health he was in. Because you were an athlete years ago doesn’t make you immune.

If I told you 20 years ago I could run 3 miles in 18 min you’d look at me now like I just leaned on a truckstop diner counter and told a great story.

Dementia was mentioned and kills as well. He wasn't young enough for early onset.
