Ive seen 4 distinct colors of diesel and I’m curious if there is anything notable about them.

    1. Almost clear
    2. Light blue
    3. Green
    4. Yellow

The blue and green are not very pronounced, the yellow however sometimes looks like a dehydrated person’s pee.

Y’all ever seen anything besides those 4?

Clear/blue/green are the normal colors. Yellow to dark yellow means its got a very high bio content in it which you can normally smell especially in Oregon. And like @okiedokie said if its red dont use it. Thats off road fuel and you’ll get huge fines if caught with it in your tanks.

rccarlson22, okiedokie and Brettj3876 Thank this.

Not a clue. Everything I've looked at in the last decade uses red fuel lol.

Is the higher bio content bad for the engine or mileage?

They sell red fuel at the town pumps in montana. They will also randomly pull u ever to check your tanks. Its 70cents cheaper than regular diesel if ur feeling adventerous

    okiedokie Thanks this.

They'd have fuel checks at jump scales. Red stays in your tanks for a long time.
