What do the different colors of diesel mean?

Most of this is correct. But remember. You can get brown, yellow right after a tanker dumps. It stirs the tank and brings junk up from bottom. Water, dirt, rust. If a tanker is dumping, best to avoid of possible.

 

#1 fuel/Kerosene will be totally clear like water. #2 Diesel usually has a naturally amber/golden tint to it. Bright neon yellow means it has a high bio content. Loves in the Midwest sells a lot of it. In practice I don’t notice much of a performance or MPG difference with any of it. #1 fuel makes the exhaust smell nice if you have an older truck where you can get a whiff of it.

 

It’s the same exact stuff though as on road fuel just with red dye in it.

 

Yep, I used to use it for auger trailer engines and pump motors.
