I’ve never understood daseke’s plan. I don’t understand why they keep buying up all of these mega companies.

Because that’s how they win, companies like Daseke feel they have the resources to pursue growth through acquisition and see it as a more efficient method and faster to provide a return than acquiring customers/marketshare.

They think their cost saving measures (most of what drove @supersnackbar crazy) will help them achieve greater profits which of course translates into screwing over the drivers and staff.

Of course these decisions are taken by people who have no idea of what trucking means to most of the people who actually truck, but that’s where corporate America has taken us these days...

Daseke isn't really a trucking company, they're a holdings company that buys struggling or virtually bankrupt companies that are about to go under. Then they give them an influx of cash and let them try to become self supportive and profitable, then if they don't, they reorganize them. They stopped buying after they acquired that company that had something to do with moving oil rig equipment. The economy cooled some in the middle of their spending spree and then they went public. Now they have to answer to shareholders instead of being a privately owned entity, so they're more cautious with spending.

Does anyone see something odd about this "where I've been in the USA" graphic on the back of this RV

I think those dumb maps have stickers that you paste into the empty state.

    The sticker probably fell off.

The northeast corner of Mississippi is peeling too.

Not sure where this was taken, but I would guess just about any LEO in the US would have a problem with it...
