I thought Bob financed that truck on his own and can take it anywhere he chooses.

Indeed you do, sir. And we all have met that 'special' guy that won't turn the key for less than $4 a mile. My life is complete.

I’ve never bragged about how much I make. Frankly the guys running spot market are posting numbers that shadow mine right now and I’ve said that numerous times here. I do what I do because it’s consistent both in the amount of work and the pay. I don’t want to ride that roller coaster. But to suggest there’s no margin for weekly truck washes is foolish in my opinion because it’s not doing harm to me and my operation.

When I met with the guy about pulling food grade one of the first things he wanted to see was a picture of my truck. Image helps in some segments, like when a guy is turning you loose with a polished and Alumacleared trailer that he just paid $100k for.

Now hauling feed ingredients I’ve seen guys with scurvy trucks be turned away from loading without a washout ticket while I pull in with a clean truck and get loaded after I tell them I swept out. If the outside is dirty they naturally assume the inside of your trailer is a mess too.

You guys have a good weekend, I have to blow my radiator and air to air out and then run up and get my truck rinsed off again.

I could leave, but then I would be in a much more strict payment arrangement for the truck and insurance, etc. As it stands now if I have a short mile week, Crete simply takes it out of the next check.

When I go on home time, I normally stay out at least a week, and have one settlement with short or no miles.

I financed through a Crete subsidiary company. I thought that they were just a partner when i took out the loan,, but learned differently later..

I could technically take the truck elsewhere, but it would just add complications to my life.
