I have a Family Dollar one mile from my house. Looks like a great place to get a truck into.
    Yep, that is sarcasm.

I shop there regularly. In and out. Gotta feed the cat and I gotta have tissue.

I've never seen Dave promote Schneider.

Well, not until Schneider went public and Dave bought 10% of the company.
    Before that, nope.

    Crete Carrier Corporation.
    Lincoln, Nebraska.
Practical routing. In other words, your mileage will be based on the way you will actually drive to your destination. Not "shortest route " that wouldn't make sense for a 75 foot long truck, 40 ton truck.
I drove for Crete for 18 years. I got paid for 99% of the miles I drove .
Some companies still pay shortest route. That means you may only get paid 90-94% of the miles you drive. The rest you drive are FREE !!!!!!!!
Every company should pay practical route.
Crete pays for practically every mile you drive.
Some companies let you drive a bunch of miles for NOTHING!!!
Furthermore, Crete has one of the best pay rates for big fleets.
Anyone care to name other companies that pay practical miles and their pay rate. Crete will kick other companies ###
when it comes to paying you for miles you drive and at a better rate .
    Talk is cheap.
    Let's see the numbers.
Crete is privately owned. So, I don't own stock. No monetary gain for me.
But, I'll give credit where it's due.
Great place for a new driver if you want to make a few thousand dollars more than the "competition " doing the same work in a similar truck.

Crete pays practical miles. Many still pay out of date "short " miles where you might drive 10,000 miles free per year.

I've driven for companies where I gave them 1 month of work per year for free.

Crete used to do that, too. They corrected that about 15 years ago.
    What about the rest ????
Are those others still raping their drivers???

    Let us know.

    Drivers shouldn't drive for free.

    Schneider?
    JB Hunt ?
    Swift ?
    And the rest ??

    Fill us in.

This past January, a Schneider recruiter told us that they DID NOT have driver facing cameras.

But before he left, he said not to believe anything he said without verifying it ourselves. o_O

Recruiters are not always kept 100% up to date on the reality inside a company. They are no higher on the corporate food chain than drivers.

While they definitely bend the truth or even lie at times, at least some of what they tell you that is wrong is likely unintentional.

No, you couldn't. That's just ignorant. Just about any job pays more per hour than driving a truck, but good luck getting those hours.

Most burger-flipping jobs pay like $10-$13/hr, but good luck getting more than 20 hrs per week.

Wait...you just said that. I blame the bourbon and coke.
