Is there a way to get around it? Exit before and get back on after? Anybody familiar with the area might share some insight. Is this a PrePass/Drivewyze facility? Getting old with having to deal with Ports, roadsides, sudden rest area set ups, randoms, just leave me be.

I'm not sure what's so new. Pretty sure most of these things already exist. Maybe not in Texas??
- A weigh-in-motion sensor
- An over-height detector
- A pit for DPS Troopers and Inspectors to more easily inspect brakes, linings and other items from underneath the truck
- A 90-foot platform scale — the only one like it in the state — that allows inspection officials to weigh an entire truck at once
- Hazardous materials placard and carrier identification sensors connected to a computer database that identify credentialing, violation history and if the vehicle is under a federal out-of-service order
- A thermal imaging array examines a truck’s wheels and brakes for abnormalities, such as defective brakes.

Like @PacoTaco said. US 90 (the original IH 10) from Seguin to Luling will bypass it. It runs with the Union Pacific line along that stretch that goes coast to coast.Rocks, PacoTaco, TheLoadOut and 1 other person Thank this. -
