Well, somewhere awhile back I posted a flyer copy from TEC in Oregon offering some brand new Volvo 760's for the $138,500 if I remember correctly.

That included the FET. That was right when the lockdown got going and things kind of froze for about 2 mos.

Then, the floodgates opened in June/July and rates started escalating. That was that for those prices.

    Supply & demand.

I hadn’t stayed up to snuff with what the other dealers are doing. I assumed freight shakers were going for cheap. I think @Dave_in_AZ might have posted about some deals here or there.

Honestly, I’ve paid this same price for 2 or 3 years now no matter what the market is. My local dealer wants 158k so I just don’t do business there other then parts and body shop. I still go to their annual golf outing and tell the owner to see what he can do. He always says oh absolutely let’s do business but nothing changes.

The first new truck I ever bought was a 2018 in December of 2018. I flew on a plane to go look at the truck, meet the manager, and buy the truck. The next new truck I bought I flew a driver there to drive it home. These last 4 new ones they have delivered to my yard straight from Chillicothe.

There are no extra fees or taxes. I literally text my guy and he places the order, tells me when they will show up, and when they show up I send him a wire. He then sends me paperwork and it’s done.

Some people may like to do a bunch of talking back and forth but the millennial self that I am would rather just do it through text or email with an occasional call if needed. I personally love the relationship. The dealership manager nor do I need smoke blew up our rears. We just do business.

There's a LOT to be said about buying at a local dealership. I have built a good relationship with the dealership where I bought my truck new.

Getting to know the service manager and service writers is beneficial when it comes to getting things done.

When I need something done, they get it done.

I could definitely see that and would be awesome.

The local dealership has about a 1 week wait time so frankly, I never go there. The only time I’ll wait some time is at Cummins if I have an engine problem. I’ve been fortunate though, these X15’s have yet to see the shop. Knock on wood.

I read these stories where guys say it takes a week or two to get warranty, or even non-warranty work done. I've never had that problem, knock on wood too ;-)

Read some of the comments here and I've never had much luck with Gabriel or Monroe shocks and think they both suck. I went with Sachs on my Freightliner when I put new tires on it a few weeks ago. They are the OEM brand. They ride pretty good so far but we'll just have to see how they hold up.

I used to change all shocks periodically but honestly it's a waste of money. Three of the 6 shocks I recently replaced were still good but I wanted all new Sachs with these high dollar tires I just put on. The best way to do it is to drive that truck 200 or 300 miles down the highway and when you stop take a temp gun and check the temps of every shock. The ones that are cool are shot and need to be replaced. At $50-$60 apiece shocks ain't really cheap.

Why are you following me Reo after your "Noted" reply to me? Are you kidding me man? It was a joke, in a thread that I was assuming was made all in good fun. if you don't want me mentioning old forum members (don't know if dude got banned or just quit logging onto this site) put it on the rules on this forum and I won't.

    Good grief.
