    I understand that we have another forum for oil fields but there’s crickets over there. Anyone working out in the oil fields in west Texas? How often are you changing your oil out there? Are you using rotella blended or full synthetic?

    I dont do oilfield but similar in the amount of dust and high idle time. I change oil at 10,000 miles and I use Delo oil. I also change air filters every few months. I'd like to put an hour meter on and go more on hours rather than miles

    Thank you, yeah we don’t idle that much since we have an EPU. ( works and charges off different set of batteries ). I’m thinking more in the range of $15k, do you use full synthetic?

    I do not. I figure synthetic is more for the guys that go longer between oil changes. Awful expensive to change synthetic every 10k

    yeah im trying to decide if i want to do syntetic out in the oil field. I understand that more frequent oil changes out there in west texas do to the sand and harsh conditions, just trying to figure out how often i should go. most likely ill do 15k miles full syntetic
