so we have a 93 international 4600 i think. feels like it needs a clutch adjustment!! the actual clutch has no adjustment. so everything is pointing to the linkage style adjustment!!! i either need a repair manual or the procedure for adjusting a clutch with the linkage style adjustment..

    thanks

I think that unless it's a hydraulic clutch there is an adjuster you just have to turn the engine until you find it.

You never adjust the linkage first. You always do the internal adjustment to adjust the clutch. 1/2 of an inch at the throwout bearing 1/8 of an inch at the fingers.

You normally should never have to adjust your linkage.

Generally speaking, you NEVER adjust the linkage. Set it and forget it. That is true for the vast majority of class 8 trucks. A 4600 isn't a class 8 truck so there may be a slightly different procedure.

He's got an old S-Line unit there. They could be rated for class 8. But anyway, in 93 I was a high school nerd, so I'm not sure what type of clutch you have. If it's not adjustable because it has run out of adjustment or seized, then it needs to be replaced. Like mentioned, the external linkage should never need to be touched.

worn heim joints in the linkage will create excessive free travel.
