Contact the place that issued it to you. They should be able to make you a copy.

Does your company have a copy?

I’ve only worked for two carriers but I think both made copies of my card for their records.

    4 options I can see.

    1. Get a saved copy (from work, home records, etc.)
    2. Find your current card.
    3. Get a new physical.
    4. Don't worry about it, it's not needed legally any longer for CDL drivers.

So we obviously have to get an exam but carrying paper documentation isn’t required? That would make sense as one can’t get an active CDL without one and I assume all States require you provide them supporting documentation to get/keep your CDL.

The answer is the same. Now that med cards are tied to CDL's, they aren't required to be carried any longer. It's best practice to carry it for when an officer asks for it. If you don't have it the most they can do is hold you for a reasonable time (most courts have stated over 15 minutes in unreasonable) while they verify.

    Here's the regs from 391.41.

    (2) CDL/CLP exception. (i)(A) Beginning on January 30, 2015 and through June 21, 2021, a driver required to have a commercial driver's license under part 383 of this chapter, and who submitted a current medical examiner's certificate to the State in accordance with 49 CFR 383.71(h) documenting that he or she meets the physical qualification requirements of this part, no longer needs to carry on his or her person the medical examiner's certificate specified at §391.43(h), or a copy, for more than 15 days after the date it was issued as valid proof of medical certification.

    (B) On or after June 22, 2021, a driver required to have a commercial driver's license or a commercial learner's permit under 49 CFR part 383, and who has a current medical examiner's certificate documenting that he or she meets the physical qualification requirements of this part, no longer needs to carry on his or her person the medical examiner's certificate specified at §391.43(h).

You have to tie it in to your driver license so it's no longer needed. Cops around the country have access to it.

But if you really want a copy. You're supposed to give it to company so they have it on record. Ask them to email you a copy. Not need to call the clinic.

And if the cop wants to see it. Tell him it's in the database. I haven't been asked for it in years.
