Quick question. Has anyone figured out how to make their address private? When I first got my own IRP 3 years ago they didn’t accept PO Boxes or UPS store address’. I had to use my home address for my IRP and it’s public on safer.gov of course.
Has anyone in a single truck operation found a workaround?

1 Use another address, either residential or business.
2 Some people who live in RVs full time use mail forwarding services. It gives them a physical address when they don't have one.
3 Call IRP and your state's DMV. Tell them you are a truck driver planning to live full time in your truck and not have a physical address. What should you do? I'd like to know their answer.drive-away2020 Thanks this. -
I guess my home address is on there and I never get anything having to do with trucking to my house. Just checks. My phone number, on the other hand? I absolutely hate every salesman having access to that.

I got a UPS street address (a postal box in their store) for one of my other business’. That business isn’t as strict as IRP / FMCSA. But, I never got audited in trucking for using my home address either. I wonder if I just go with my UPS box address for trucking and just change it back to my home address later if I get audited / in trouble for it. I don’t mind letting the state DMV and FMCSA know my address, but making it public is like come on! Homeland security, but I can’t protect my home address from anyone who knows my company’s name!!!! It’s pretty crazy. I get the logic, just don’t like it
I’m doing some new ventures soon where my company name will be more public. Oh well I guess, gotta go for it! -
In many states, DMV sells your personal info: name, address date of birth, and perhaps more. I just Googled to refresh my memory. According to a Car & Driver article, the State of Florida made $77 million in 2017 selling DMV info. (Google How much does DMV in [your state name] make selling records.)
My state will privatize your data if you are a victim of domestic violence. I assume other states do the same.
Let us know what you learn.
