I was going to guess 12'6" and mistook upstate for the City where every bridge is marked a foot too low. But 10'9" is egregious. How do you screw up so bad?

    Ticketed for having obstructed plates?
Was the roof of the trailer hanging down over the license plates?

He probably had a license plate cover that obscured the plate(major no-no in New York State, otherwise they’ll think you’re trying to dodge tolls or other issues).

I was giving an orientation to a group of drivers on my account.. I got into this very subject.. One driver basically and very vocally "poo poo'd the whole idea and called himself a "21st century driver" and told me that "he didn't need a paper map". Literally a half hour later I get a call that there was a truck "hung up" in tiny town right next to the DC... I drove over there and lo and behold. The same driver was hung up across the road after trying to turn around.. I rolled up.. rolled down my window and asked "Hey.. How's things going in the 21st Century today?" He wasn't near as amused as I was! LOL.. I could have gotten him fired for making a crap U-turn across the road, but figured that he was having a bad enough day as it was.. He sunk a brand new snow WHITE Peterbilt into a cow pasture (swampy).. He didn't last three weeks on the account.

You don't need a paper map. You need a functioning brain. Paper or digital mapping it's not going to change that.
