Long and bouncy...I forgot how bad spring ride trailers ride when loaded.

Got to the Petro in Ontario on Wednesday afternoon with 8 left on my 70(I started my 70 last Friday). I delivered yesterday afternoon in Mira Loma, and now I am doing a 34. They had originally planned me on a load Wednesday afternoon that picked up after I got empty a few miles away from my delivery, but it needed to be in Loveland CO on Saturday, and given the load weight and the route, I knew I would be a little short on hours to make it there on time. They said, we can reschedule or repower enroute as long as we get the load moving. So, when I got empty yesterday, I waited...and waited...and waited. No load appeared. I asked them when they were going to send me the CO load, they said 'what CO load? You are planned on an OR load'...WTF? I guess they removed the CO load and planned me on a OR load that delivers Monday, and never said a word. Some things never change.

On an odd note, my load from NC to CA was a full load of Reddi Whip. When I got the bills, it had an 'X' in the HM column, and a UN number...turns out, Reddi whip is a class 2.2 hazmat load, or at least the aerosol propellent is...but it has a special permit that doesn't require placards.

The one thing I am gonna have to get use to here is sending a message or moving my truck every 12 hours. They have it set up in the system that if you don't do one or the other, the computer sends you a message asking if you're alright. I guess they've had some people croak out here and it took days before anyone missed them, so now they ask you to keep in touch every 12 hours.

Nice, man haven’t thought about spring trailers since the 80’s lol. This time round in trucking I have been spoiled. Headed back to CA from MS myself, looks like this time out I’m gonna be a dedicated CA run guy :).

Hey @iraqralph43, does Creafer send everyone a msg daily about the hours they're getting back the next 2 days, or is it just something they do for newly hired drivers until they are convinced they know how to work the ELD. The last couple days (once I had 8 days on the logbooks) I have gotten a msg about the hours I am getting back for a couple days...I have an app for that, and certainly don't need the #####-box to tell me what I already know. Seems to be a lot more rookie hand holding going on since I Ieft 7 yrs ago.

Dale thompson, drvrtech77 and Lonesome Thank this.
