Generally pickup tires dont go bad. Only time I have known of tire failure is when the owner doesnt have the money to maintain said tires and run them down as skins.
Blown tire accident avoided.

Had a drivers side steer let go on my old hotshot at ~70mph few years ago. Was in the 3rd lane on a 4 lane section of I75 near Ringold, GA. Was light, ~21k gross when it happened. Kept 'er in my lane, slowed easy peasy & hit the right shoulder to swap it out. Not sure why that dually lost control so easily. Maybe he wasn't paying attention.? IDK..
It's hard to see but the tire was 6 month old bridgestone r500hd properly inflated, deep tread. Got great service out of the rest of them, even replaced with the same.. Blew a hole right through the tread section. Almost like road debris got it, but I don't think so..
Lower right side of the tire where it sits in the pic. Can barely see it.. Lol This is 4-5 years old, & the only pic I can find of it..
