It don't make a difference whether you have a clutch or not. Its simple. Drive slower or park it.

I think they do that because they’re sick and tired if cleaning up these messes and frankly I can’t blame them because its all preventable in the least..

I had a truck from mile hi foods pulling Rocky Mountain doubles one year and 80 was vert slick and most folks were doing around 55mph and this fool past me like i was backing up and i got on the radio and asked him to slow it down because he nearly hit me..his response “ if I slow down I’m gonna lose traction“... driving like he was he would’ve lost traction to begin with because he was going to fast for conditions...this never used to be a problem across 80 in Wyoming...have too many folks driving trucks that shouldn’t be driving them because they act like they’re driving their cars and that is messed up..

Are the increases in trucking disasters in WHY-OH-MING a result of e logs and automatics, or is it just coincidences???

It has always amazed me how many drivers would rather try to keep going into the mess rather than pull off onto the shoulder. It will take a tow truck to get me out. Yet I wount be in a sardine can from other drivers whom are going to fast. That CRST was the lucky one

alds, drvrtech77 and Trucker61016 Thank this.

The whole point of having a feel for trucks is so you know when to not let the #### auto downshift and rev to 2000 rpm causing a loss of traction... And even in an auto you can slip it to neutral to regain traction. But I'd be willing to bet most drivers coming out of these CDL mills dont have a clue about either of those techniques.
