Maybe.........stop being/behaving like a effing criminal. It only seem like it is happening a lot because the news likes to sensationalize these incidents and whip people into a frenzy! Do you have ANY IDEA how many contacts there are between criminals and police on a daily basis where nobody gets shot by the police????? It is a BIG NUMBER! I'll have to look it up. Stop feeling sorry for criminals. Getting shot/killed by cops or another "bad guy" is just one of the hazards of their "trade".

 

WOW Qbf594 really. If the criminals wouldn't put themselves in their own position we wouldn't be talking about this. You can worry about the criminals, rapists, baby molesters, murderers, drug dealers, etc. families and the majority of the rest of us will worry about and stand with the victims, their families and law enforcement.
Where is the outrage when 20 to 50 people including kids get killed in Chicago on a normal weekend? I guess they're killing each other so it's ok.

 

I don't watch news if I can help it. But when I'm seeing these, like 1 ####### probably on drugs, and 2 cops so presumably 2 guns ..
Nah I come from up north country life. That's not where a life is in danger and the guy is a criminal. That's just somebody f'ed up on crack or whatever and 2 scared dudes over reacting . A knife fer chrissakes...jeepers.

I didn't read the article to find out what caused the cops to be called or what occurred before the shooting. I saw the mom was right there talking to the guy who got shot. So doesn't exactly strike me as a hostage situation or gun fight in progress. Maybe nothing had to be shot. Maybe. Like back in the good old days when we were innocent until proven guilty. Seeing here alot of 'he's a criminal ' but without the arrest and conviction etc he's just a dead dude who had the cops called on him.
Sounded like he was cracked out. Meth. Heroin whatever. I'm not up on current drugs. I know angel dust made people unstoppable but I don't think that is the case with these new drugs. So you mean 2 full grown men not under drugged mental state, with police training, can't distract, tackle and shoot if necessary like a foot or a knee, and take the guy down? If you are competent to shoot in a city without hitting bystanders seems like the non lethal option is easier. Just takes steady nerves. Any panicky person with a gun can unload into someone 10 feet away, that doesn't take much skill once you get the trigger pulled.

 

So would you try to take a knife away from somebody if you have some other way?

 

You said it best, you're not up on current drugs. Meth is the popular one right now that keeps you up for days. Fentanyl is another one.
Police are trained to stop the threat, that's what they did.

 

You should go watch some youtube videos of cops shooting dudes with tasers and it litterally does nothing to stop them. The only way to stop them is with the handgun.
