Background: Volvo 780 stock stereo worked flawlessly until this morning. Wife started the truck and the stereo did not come on automatically which is weird since it always has before. We pressed the power button and stereo turned on but no sound! I adjusted the fader and discovered the sound was normal in the rear speaker channel but absolutely no sound is being supplied to the front. We shut the truck off and the stereo stayed ON in the key off position. I always thought the power was interrupted to the unit in the key off position but the stereo now supplies itself with power, hence my belief in it being possessed. Aside from the paranormal what do you suspect is going on?
I shut off the truck and also the main interrupt switch for five minutes and turned it back on and the problem is exactly as it was before.

Sounds like it would be in the radio itself but not sure

Have you tried hitting it with a hammer? Gotta show it who is the boss maybe.

Maybe smudge the truck and chant in Latin?

Pull the fuse out and put it back, see what happens.
Out of topic. I remember couple years ago you had a thread about awesome mpg you are getting on your new Volvo. How is it after all this time?

If you can't fix it with a hammer, it's a electrical problem!

Dash says 9mpg. I don’t calculate actual mpg as I’m lazy. Volvos with D13s are legendary for their fuel frugality. The radio works in the rear speakers so I don’t know how a fuse would matter unless there is one specific to the front channel.

I sort of figured it was electrical in nature.

I think you may be listening to too much Coast to Coast radio.

    Maybe George Noory can help.
