I've got the proof.
Customer printed out rate con sent to my carrier with me standing right there.
Carrier made the mistake of erasing specific information about the load from the rate con.
Extra stuff involved with the load as is why it paid more.
So when I told broker and customer this aint right, these details was not in writing they said yes it was here's the rate con sent to your carrier.
When we all realized what was going on broker flat out told me he will help me out if lawyers get involved.
It's all so terrible in so many ways.
Broker was paying good for good service and then all this BS happens.
In this industry your reputation is everything, my carrier willing to ruin their business just to make some extra bucks on a load.
Terrible.
Caught my carrier photoshopping rate cons and stealing money, what should I do?

Sadly they told me this happens all the time but if i have proof in writing (which I do) that is massive.
They told me this can put them out of business. -
As a former officer from a small department I would have liked to gotten a case like this. Would have been interesting to investigate. I think you could make an argument for theft and other criminal acts. Good luck.
dwells40, D.Tibbitt and Accidental Trucker Thank this. -
They'd send the rate con, and I always thought " they put anything they want on that." I mean it is the age of computers. I've no doubt whatsoever they skimmed.
I have a mini fleet at Landstar now if you're interested.Brettj3876, dwells40 and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
As for the broker disclosure rules, they only apply to the carrier not a leased on owner operator.
As much as it sucks it is best to just move on to another carrier. Wish I had better info to contribute.Brettj3876, Dino soar, Midwest Trucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
Somebody does got to do something about this.
OOIDA told me today they get a lot of complaints about carriers doing this.
It's very easy for a carrier to edit a rate con to whatever they want and then forward it to the driver.
Difference with me however is the amount of proof I have.
I was in the office with customer and broker (on speaker phone) acknowledging my carrier changed the Rate con big time, they immediately went to computer without delay and printed off the rate con sent to my carrier and handed it to me.
I still have that sheet directly from customer.
They were not happy, even saying they will help me with this if goes to the lawyers. -
It's unfortunate but that does happen all the time.
I know a guy that was in the Excavating business. He ripped off everybody that he possibly could ever rip off in that business and then he moved on to trucking.
He said he likes Trucking better because in the Excavating he had to go out and do the jobs and then they would pay him and then they would go to court and they would fight him and he was stiff everybody but put the trucking he just stole off of everybody and he could do it perpetually.
So he keeps growing and hiring on more trucks and more trucks and everyone he steals from them and gets richer and richer.
Very sad but unfortunately true.User666 Thanks this. -

U need to find out who is the one skimming in the company. Is it ur entire company or is it just ur dispatcher or agent u get loads thru ? I would be in the office raising hell first and foremost. Those other drivers with ur company need to know about this crap going on.

@Kenworth6969
How much more money would the load paid if the carrier had paid you based on the broker's rate con?
Based on that dollar amount and any other factors, can you estimate how much the carrier took from you since you've been leased to them?
