    If you ever want to get real serious about standby power, I've got a couple 30kw Cat generators for sale. Just sayin'.

    I have a 3200w Predator generator that will run both my fridge and freezer, some lights, the tv wifi router, and the central heat, all at the same time. Not the quietest thing but it is in an enclosed outside room so I barely hear it.

    I was reading reviews when I bought my Honda, and people were running their entire house on them. Only thing they couldn't run was high-resistance stuff, like baseboard heaters. Pretty amazing what these little generators are capable of.

    @Opus Check this out:

    Honda Generators - Wattage calculator
    https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/buyers-guides_wattage-calculator

    According to the Northern tool calculator, once your fridge was up and running, it should power it just fine. But it's pretty close. The average surge watts on the fridge is the same as the surge watts on the generator. I'd check the starting watts of the fridge, and make a decision from there.

    But if you've got the scratch, I'd opt for a bit bigger. That way you can run some lights, maybe the coffee maker, etc.

    Opus Thanks this.

    Up north in the woods you need heat and water.... so you gotta run both those systems and the fridge with some lights......

    I have a Predator 3500 from Harbor Freight and I ran fridge, freezer, two flat screen TVs, two laptops, a 6000 BTU AC & a couple of lamps etc. You just cant let more than one big appliance start at once. Start them one at a time.
    Then I bought a Predator 6500 to run those things listed above & use the 3500 to run the storage shed with a freezer and 7500 BUT AC in it.

    They arent the quietest, but being outside, its not really an issue. If your outside with it, like for an outside event, it would probably be somewhat of an issue, but inside it doesnt pose a problem. And, about a half of a pull on the cord & it starts right up. Easy to start.

    All is good.
