I swear they must hire psychics or something at these trucking companies anymore. The minute I left my company after three years I get emails daily with offers. One thing I’ve noticed is most of them seem to be offer me a starting cents per mile in the upper 50s and a few even over $.60 per mile. Is this the new trend? Now trust me, I know the hype and lies recruiters use, etc. But these are Genuine offers. Like come in and get started at 58-60 cents per mile. I chatted with one recruiter and he openly admitted they’re desperate for drivers and very shorthanded.

That’s still not that great unless you’re getting 3000 miles a week. (Probably not). At a more realistic 2000 it’s $1200 a week gross. Not enough for me to bother living in a truck stop all week and driving their pile of junk.

If you’re getting only 2000 miles a week Pulling a dry box something is seriously wrong. I did 98k miles last year pulling large oversize freight for customers that love to make us wait days for the loads to be ready.

Ask the recruiter what the median gross income was for all drivers last year. If they are truthful that will tell you everything you need to know.

We just got a raise to 53 cpm. Weekly average miles sitting at 2700 right now pulling food grade tanker. I stay out 6-8 weeks though.
