I read this last night and couldn't figure out what you were talking about. There is no adjustment for the fan clutch on any 6nz ive ever seen. Thought maybe it was some odd ball truck with a goofy clutch setup.

Only this morning did I realize you were talking about the fan BELT. Even though you didn't once use the word BELT

Cat is designed to break your pocket book. Here is some of the screwed up parts that I have found that was designed to fail just so you have to buy there junk.

41 mms torque bolts on the timing cover( peanut cover) there isn't a 41 mmm torque socket.

3/4 x 3/4 head bolts. Good luck on finding a socket and a wrench that won't break.

Fuel injectors that need "programming" and Cat is the only one that makes the computer.

Twin turbo, yea this was a bad idea.

Spacer plates that cause headgaskets to fail.

Engine computer mounted on a hot motor that vibrates, it's not like they couldn't have found a better location for it.

Not saying everything Cat does is amazing but none of these complaints are really valid.

The peanut cover bolts are a torx plus. Think its TP 40. Doesn't almost everyone mount the ECM on the side of the motor? Think or N-14s are. They all have their issues. And I really like these compound turbos I bolted up to my 6nz

And how often do you see an ECM fail? I can honestly say I've seen 2 engine ECM failures, neither were mounted to the engine either.
