How can you drive through the empty side of the weigh station legally if you are placarded?

Worse than that, the driver crossed over a solid white line to cut in front of several trucks waiting to get through the loaded side.

He’s most likely empty. Placards stay in place because of residue in the tank.

I mean, technically it is not empty if it is still explosive?

If they were truly empty would they not remove the placards?

It’s empty. If the tanks been washed out, then the placards come off.

Tanker? If it hasn't been washed out, it has residue of the last load contained. But it's still considered empty. No scaleman give a ####. I do it all the time.

Right, placards stay on until the tank is washed out.
