@Wasted Thyme tell them u want to run idaho75 thru the sawtooth forest ... u will need a 48ft trailer . It is restricted otherwise.. I took it once. Trailer is scraping the side of the mountain on some turns. Up and down left and right. Beautiful drive . But once was enough for me, was getting motion sickness from all the switchbacks.

If your westbound, you actually start the climb about Fernley and finish the down side about Rocklin.

It’s been a while since I drove over any of the major passes out west, but none of them are difficult in decent weather, as long as you’re not an idiot and try to hurry down. If XHeavy was still here, he’d tell you that Town Hill on I-70 between Breezewood, PA and Hancock, MD can be a real sphincter-clencher.
