What do they consider a mountain pass? U can run with me in northwest montana during a snowstorm . U Will have more experience than half the drivers out here after that

Yep some of those donkey trails in wv and pa and md can test ur skills. In the age of jake breaks Donner is only tough when its snowing and grapevine does not even qualify as a mountain pass in my humble opinion

@Wasted Thyme tell them u want to run idaho75 thru the sawtooth forest ... u will need a 48ft trailer . It is restricted otherwise.. I took it once. Trailer is scraping the side of the mountain on some turns. Up and down left and right. Beautiful drive . But once was enough for me, was getting motion sickness from all the switchbacks.

I work for Con Edison and was in the Environmental Operations dept out of Van Nest for a year and a half...aka flushing manholes so other crews could work in them. The nastiest holes I've ever been in this side of the moon. And yes whatever anyone says about Hunts Point it's prolly true....it's the armpit of the Bronx, druggies and low income/section 8 housing and the rest is industrial slums.

I go over donner a few time a week! I don't see the issue either! Don't be stupid, like every other road!

Most people don’t realize how long of a run Donner is.
If your westbound, you actually start the climb about Fernley and finish the down side about Rocklin.
If your paying attention and respect the road, nothing to worry about.

The only thing i could gather is that it feels narrow in areas so maybe in the winter i could see it getting kinda sketchy. I've not been on it in winter but i imagine it just would be slow down an take my time like anywhere else. Someday i wanna run cabbage patch an Snohomish. Those are 2 I've not been on in a big truck. I hear they are tough ones. But i enjoy the challenge of stuff like that , even in the winter.

It’s been a while since I drove over any of the major passes out west, but none of them are difficult in decent weather, as long as you’re not an idiot and try to hurry down. If XHeavy was still here, he’d tell you that Town Hill on I-70 between Breezewood, PA and Hancock, MD can be a real sphincter-clencher.

Cabbage is a ##### in the winter . Mostly because of the ice fog that is always on it.
