Have used Rotella for a long time with no problems. If you are hung up on Lucas cut to a half ration.
Not a great believer in the need for additives. Do believe in changes being done on time. Fuel and oil cleanliness is next to godliness. JMO

So does Lucas actually stick to the bearings and all inside the engine? I never tore an engine apart, after using Lucas but I did have Lucas Hub Oil in a trailer hub with a bad seal, and the bearing was still sticky after the oil was gone. Can see why that might not always be the best in an engine though.

I use a synthetic blend 15-40 from a local oil distributor. Also, I throw in a gallon of Wally World 85-90 gear oil, GL 5 per RAWZE. C o m. He’s the ISX’s guru. Check out he’s site.

I tried Lucas in my pickup. I noticed it made some minor rattling noises. Dumped the oil and filled with oil like normal. No problems. Probably too thick to properly flow.

I don't understand everyone's obsession with having high oil pressure. Pressure is resistance to flow. Higher pressure = more resistance to flow. I'd rather have the flow if the pressure is in spec.

Right, adequate flow of oil with oil temp not excessive and again changes at no more than recommended intervals.

Crude Truckin' and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

Unless they want a 50k mile oil change interval.
