Of course a lot has changed during the 30 years I've been gone but as I recall, when I left OTR for local, DOT had made coffin sleepers illegal on the grounds that drivers could not get proper rest in them. Word was, trucks manufactured from then in could not be made with coffin sleepers.
But my friends husband has a new Pete with a coffin sleeper.
    What gives?

    singlescrewshaker Thanks this.

We’ve had em for ever. I just got issued a 2021 a few weeks ago. No complaints. It even has a small fridge in it.

Ran this for about a year and 3 months OTR. It got a little too crammed after a while and I got sick of getting dressed/undressed on my bed. Lightweight was 27k with both tanks full though lol

I've driven cabovers, trucks with coffins, day cabs, the Volvo you had to crawl over the doghouse to get into the sleeper, & the bigger sleepers with room for a closet but nothing compares to my 2-story Volvo with built-in refrigerator/freezer, closet, TV mount, bunk beds, picnic table, 2-story overhead storage telescopic steering with an indoor hood latch. Volvos used to be the suckiest trucks on the road, as far as the inside went. Now they are top shelf.

You'd need at least a 120 for the cats.
