What is consider a coffin sleeper today?? When I was young my dads trucks came as day cabs and he would order a 36" sleeper. They took the back window out of the cab and that's how you got into the sleeper. That is what I always considered a coffin sleeper. Move into the 80's and he ordered a day cab Super liner and installed a 48" walk though, (cut the back of cab out the width of the window) that was not considered a coffin because you could walk into it. (Bent over of course) His 60" flat top on one of his Internationals was considered a motel, LOL...then the last truck was a International with a 72" pro sleeper and he didn't know what to think with that mansion, considering his first sleeper was a board between the seats.

We need some clarification here I think.....

A coffin sleeper is one where the back window has been taken out and that’s the opening between the cab and sleeper.

The predecessor to the “walk-in”, the coffin was the “fall-in”.
