Saw them lots across NM and AZ during 1957-58.

If 36 inches is considered a coffin sleeper, this must be the box they put your cremated remains in.

So how does one climb into this thing? Through a hole in the roof of the cab? Through the door on the side? Did OSHA exist back then? Imagine having to quickly remove yourself from that box when certain bodily functions suddenly come knocking in the middle of the night. Oh and how nice, it looks like it has an upper patio for night star viewing once you've parked. Just fold out the lawn chair, sit back and relax, must've been the "Studio" of it's time.

Only ever had one coffin sleeper,,was on a SLine Next bunk I bought was Mercury with large opening so I got the Sawzal out and opened up rear of cab.
