Just had one of those weird nights. My truck was in the shop for a pm and I had to a choice of 3, one was ruled out because it didn’t have offside drops, another one that’s only really driven by one driver, it’s not his truck but it’s his truck, and another that setup just like mine. Its a coincidence that it just came out of the shop the day before mine. My first load was up to one of the big 3s headquarters and it was a full load of premium. The marathon has one lane with 2 premium arms and all premium loads at about 200 gpm. Compared to everything else at 600 gpm... it takes several naps to load it lol. So I get up to headquarters and called security which normally sends somebody out as soon as I call, they tell me they’ll send someone when the other truck gets finished. About 30 mins later the security guard comes up and saying it’s not looking too good and theyre hoping they can atleast get him out before shift change in 2 hours. The back in is shaped like T, you pull through a narrow straight and driver side in. It’s one where the setup is 95% of the manuever. The poor guy somehow got the whole truck up on the curb which happened to be gravels and jackknifed. Then unhooked to get his front wheels clear but I guess had problems rehooking. He also had one of the freightliners with the low bumper, did damage to his his trailer fender and punctured one of his tanks, when he got out I took him a bottle of water as it’s all I had to offer and tried to calm/let him vent a little. Before he got out I noticed my truck had a bad coolant leak. Got unloaded and before I left I put a whole jug of coolant in...after about 5 mins the low coolant warning was going off and it was about a 45 min ride to the yard. Mechanic took two seconds and said yea that’s out of service, but the good news is that my truck had just been finished. So I hook it up and head to load my second. I had a mix of gas and diesel and at our bp we only have one lane that has gas and diesel, but it only has 2 and one so most of the time it’s easier to pick a gas lane then pull around and get a gas lane. So I pulled up and got all my stuck hooked and put my card in and soon as I got my card in to load the rack got shut down for the nightly 30 min inventory haha. Did my two and was told to call it a night .

Saw some wild stuff tonight. They’re doing construction on a main road near our yard. They have 5 consecutive signs out about 10 feet apart from each Other signaling no right turn as the right lane is the only lane open on the construction street and there is a pole right next to the curb. So going to load my second I the lightpole hanging on a electrical wire , a lady In the street with her flashers on arguing with a bus driver out his driver side window. Then I get loaded and off to deliver to a truck stop. Get finished and place is at the corner right off the highway.. there’s two roundabouts a fedex truck broke down right in front of the north side entrance where I needed to go. So we get out to check on the guy and he’s nowhere to be found. To make matters worse every smarta** trucker in the world showed up in a hurry with their retarded ideas. The entrance to the highway has no shoulder. It’s about enough room to put a super single then slopes down into a ditch. They’re like you should be able to make it past him.... “Should don’t work for me”. You can’t atleast try it right?. Then every driver on the cb had to chime in on what should be done. About 10 mins later fedex comes back from across the highway with 2 gallons of diesel still no start so they tried to push it, so the problem is they pushed it to further block the exit. Police showed up after 30 mins and it was a fun time rerouting through the backroads at 1 in the morning .

Been a good few months since my last post. The year is almost over and barring another setback I’m set to gross 75k which I’m happy with because I wasn’t able to pick up overtime until may. (Did want ot Jan - March cause it was freezing and I was still learning stations and terminals) That being said I’m positive I can gross 105k next year(about 70k after taxes and 401k) This year I got a huge chunk of my car paid off and bought a harley. Next year I plan to get into real estate. Now on to the bad news. Yesterday I made my first boo boo. We got a fairly new station and the layout of it is outright dumbfounding. All three fill are about 30 feet apart from each other in the driver about 5 feet away from and parallel from the sidewalk and you have to pick your poison as to how you want to do it.. its off of two main streets so the good was that the station was closed but still lots of traffic. You can drop each one pack up everything and back out into traffic to reposition for each or come in off the other street split a set of pumps and jimmy it till you’re lined up. The first time I pulled in I didn’t like my setup as I was too tight on my driver side so I pulled out and came back around and went to try it again. When I looked i thought I was clear enough to clear cleanly on my right side so I turned my head to check my driver side and when I looked back I had already hit the horseshoe. Would’ve been fine if it was just the tire or a fender just it hit my load head first and pushed up. In the end it hit 4 of my 5 load heads. Tiny mistake = big boo boo. Company has been very cool about. Everybody knows but I’m sure I’ll hear more about it on Monday. But from my managers to dispatch to other drivers have all said to put it behind me as stuff happens

Just recieved my first terminal lockout for scullying. Still trying to figure out what happened cause I used the drain down hose till they were empty all of my fire valves open. Tapped the side of my tank with my stick after I finished unloading at the station before hand. Tapped my tank during my walkaround...

Did you set the gallon amount on the wrong compartment?

Nope they only let you set it to the max of that compartment , and it hit with less than 20 gallons left. I used the drain down hoses and waited til it was a drizzle. Was having problems with their drain down hoses, as big as this place is their drain down hoses are known to lock up on you, so I had to burp it a few time just to get it to drain.
scully is a tank overfill. When loading the tank there’s a sensor at the top that shuts down the loading process if liquid touches it.
I don’t really know the full process and this is my first issue with a terminal but each terminal is different, I was told they lock you out for 3 days first offense , 2nd is 7, then a permanent ban on the 3rd. But everything I did was on camera and I used their drain down hoses. I have to go up to talk to the terminal op in a few so we’ll see.
