Oil pressure very low Cummins isx

    Hey friends I have a 2010 kenworth t800 Cummins isx engine and my oil pressure becomes very very low and the truck stalls. Then when I turn it off for 5-10 minutes I everything goes back to normal but not for long. When I change the filter it goes 2-3 weeks no problem and then after that the pressure starts to get low again. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    How low is it going? Not sure about the isx but Cummins used to be low pressure/high volume

    How low does it get? Cummins is usually 20 psi at idle and 40 when at 1500+ rpm

    Are you using antifreeze? Get an oil sample and see whats plugging your filter

    Had a very similar issue when my EGR cooler started leaking into the intake stream on one of my trucks. Never had it stall the truck though.

    The one time I had that problem. All 6 piston rings were broken. Shop was changing the oil every 2 weeks till they got around to replacing the pistons and cylinders.

    The last Mack I drove went through 2 gallons a day, still ran strong , got up to 3 or 4 a day, finally locked up.
