I’ve never thought to ask but how do you guys like to hook up to your trailers? I was taught at Schneider awhile back to get the trailer apron no more than one inch gap between it and the 5th wheel so that you wouldn’t high hook (I’m assuming), but I just hooked up to one earlier to bring it into the shop because I couldn’t get the landing gear down any lower and it had a pretty decent size gap in it, guy in the shop told me to hook up anyway, made me a little curious.

 

Oh just wait . its coming. It will happen at the worst possible time to.

I like to drop bags and get under it just enough. Then raise bags and reverse til it locks... But im the one that unhooks my trailer so i know what to expect. Kind of hard when u dont know what doofus dropped that trailer that ur hooking to ... Most the times its way to high.

 

Most the time I hook up to another trailer it’s as you say, too high lol I’ve gone as far as lifting one up a little because the landing gear was ####ed, but never high hooking
