Mine is and it’s taking it’s toll on all of us still there! US Foods working out of the Syracuse, NY depot from the Clifton Park, NY warehouse. But I read the ads they put online and it’s infuriating.
Obviously food service delivery sucks. Everyone knows it, digging through a truck and running a handcart isn’t ideal for anyone. But they don’t sell the job whatsoever. Here is the current link to the job opening we have.

First of all, this is a job where you’re home every night and off every weekend. I’ve worked one Saturday in almost 10 years and it was an option for me. It doesn’t say that anywhere in the job ad! They advertise an average of 68k a year for drivers, but that was the old pay scale. They’ve recently updated it. Hourly starting rate of $26.10 that scales up to $30.75 in two years with plenty of OT every week. Even at the starting rate you’re probably more likely to make 78k a year than you are 68k. We have guys well into the 90Ks at the max rate.
I called and very calmly explained that if I were looking for a job that companies really need to sell themselves in this current hiring climate, and I get “I’ll definitely pass it along.” That was a month ago
In a month of having the ad up they’ve gotten one 1 applicant, who know showed to the virtual interview. 1 application in a month! Well thanks to all this extra work I’m grossing an average of around $2200 a week. Guess I’ll just keep “enjoying” that. Sorry needed to vent!
