    Mine is and it’s taking it’s toll on all of us still there! US Foods working out of the Syracuse, NY depot from the Clifton Park, NY warehouse. But I read the ads they put online and it’s infuriating.

    Obviously food service delivery sucks. Everyone knows it, digging through a truck and running a handcart isn’t ideal for anyone. But they don’t sell the job whatsoever. Here is the current link to the job opening we have.

    https://www.google.com/search?q=us+...idDNSaAAAAAA==&htiq=us foods jobs&htivrt=jobs

    First of all, this is a job where you’re home every night and off every weekend. I’ve worked one Saturday in almost 10 years and it was an option for me. It doesn’t say that anywhere in the job ad! They advertise an average of 68k a year for drivers, but that was the old pay scale. They’ve recently updated it. Hourly starting rate of $26.10 that scales up to $30.75 in two years with plenty of OT every week. Even at the starting rate you’re probably more likely to make 78k a year than you are 68k. We have guys well into the 90Ks at the max rate.

    I called and very calmly explained that if I were looking for a job that companies really need to sell themselves in this current hiring climate, and I get “I’ll definitely pass it along.” That was a month ago

    In a month of having the ad up they’ve gotten one 1 applicant, who know showed to the virtual interview. 1 application in a month! Well thanks to all this extra work I’m grossing an average of around $2200 a week. Guess I’ll just keep “enjoying” that. Sorry needed to vent!

    "Drivers" are easy to come by. GOOD drivers on the other hand are not.

    Good drivers already have a good job. That's why the big mega carriers will hire anything with a pulse.

    Even good drivers could be hired. All it takes is paying them enough to make it worth it to them.

    See, here's the tiny little secret trucking companies don't want to get traction. They pay crap, then whine that there is no one willing to work for crap wages.

    Know who never had to look for drivers as they are lining up for the jobs? Companies that actually pay for the work done at a fair to good rate.

    US Foods has horrible, bland, boring job ads.
    Some ads have "must have 12 mos. experience" and others have "new cdl school grads hired as driver trainees."

    Plenty of good drivers from temp services also, such as Trillium CDL Drivers.

    Come out to Milwaukee, you can work for the same company and gross the same with a lower cost of living.

    Compare fun things to do in Milwaukee versus Syracuse. Even discounting the cheap cheese and booze, it's no contest.

    my company need about 7 P&D drivers and 6 Line Haul , but the problem is that they cant keep drivers for more then 6 months, due to the fact that there's better opportunity out there why do P&D for 25 an hour with no OT when you can be at
    Martin Brower making 27 an hour with OT after 8 and all you do is roll the pallets to the back door of Mc Donald and they sort and count all their freight.....
