It has always been my job to cook all the pies for Thanksgiving. Using my mam'aw's recipes, I'd make chocolate fudge pie with Cool-whip topping, butternut squash pie, sometimes buttermilk coconut pie, sometime chocolate maringue pie. Year after year I'd bake, but no one would ever eat them. So two or three years ago I quit. Brother-in-law asked if I was going to bring dessert, I said h3ll to the no!

He did eventually buy a turkey fryer and marinade injector, so the quality of the meat went up over the store bought turducken, and I started bringing my own cornbread dressing and giblet gravy, so things got better.

The Paterfamilius of my clan has COPD and my daughter was recently quarantined because she got within 2 miles of a classmate with a positive covid test.

Looks like us 4 will be here firing up the pellet smoker.

Should be a good holiday. I have to work till the weekend so all get the O.T plus holiday pay. But since I start at 0300 I'll be able to catch Thanksgiving dinner at my sister's house. Then roll out to the desert pulling my toyhauler and some toys with a group of about 15 rv's.

Tug Toy, bzinger, Dennixx and 3 others Thank this.
