You don’t have any fuel mixing with coolant do you?

The coolant reservoir wasn’t showing any signs of discoloring.

If you're losing coolant a likely cause is the egr cooler.

Oh ya, I hope not... toss in a big holiday and weekend and that’s not a preferred option at all.

But it will all work out. Just gotta be flexible as to options, but not fond of living for 7-10 days in a loaner truck. Not that FCC doesn’t take care of their loaners. (As mentioned above) it’s just not the same as running/living in your own setup.

    runningman0661 Thanks this.

I really need to find that “Diesel engines for Dummies” book... would love to know how these systems are all interconnected... I would just assume the coolant system was a stand alone complete system... which, from these few comments, is obviously not the case.

Thanks to the EPA and the tree huggers, these engines were once pretty simple mechanical engines, but now they are electronic engines with as many as seven different computers running components, and then throw in the after treatment garbage, and you have the modern truck.

I got towed 2 years ago that cost $1250. Got to the dealer, hooked the computer to it, found the nox sensor was bad, one hour later I was rolling down the road. The sensor was $129.

After watching a few videos you are probably correct, it would make sense sense I was throwing a code for a nox sensor. In one video by a Detroit tech. he said the two can be related. Fingers crossed.
