What LTL companies have a no rehire policy and is this policy common in LTL's?

I read somewhere, either on this site or another trucking forum, that if you leave Old Dominion and even if you give them a 2 weeks notice and work that notice, that nobody can rehire with Old Dominion if you ever leave the company voluntarily.

Is this common in the LTL world?

Which LTL companies have a no rehire policy if you voluntarily resign, despite working and putting in at least a 2 weeks notice?

Phillip, here are some other things to consider. OD has a no-rehire policy. If you think you might wanna run across the country solo, in your 'own' assigned truck with all the bells and whistles, living out of truck stops and going to different places across the country, being away for weeks at at a time, then get it out of your system first before going to OD. Just keep in mind that some drivers would kill for an opportunity at OD. Larger terminals are usually hiring for team positions, but that's not always the case. You don't wanna squander an opportunity if you think teaming for OD might interest you.

I maybe should've stated in my OP but I don't know if this is correct or not that's why I started a thread, asking if anybody who worked for the big LTL companies knew what their company's policy was in regards to rehiring people.

Yes I thought so too. I've only been in the trucking industry for 2 years but in all of my non trucking related jobs, as long as you put in a 2 weeks notice, did your job and didn't do anything dumb the last 2 weeks then you were good to be rehired.

So, this was a bit surprising to me to read this. As I said though, it may or may not be correct. Maybe it's up to the managers discretion and Old Dominion doesn't necessarily have a "hard line" policy on the no-rehire thing.

I am thinking about my future in trucking and what moves to make in 2021, and knowing whether you can go back to a company or not if you voluntarily resign is very important to me. Not that I would plan on resigning or anything but you know, life happens sometimes and I don't want to burn bridges or not get a 2nd chance if I want one.

Anyways like I said if anybody knows what their company's LTL policy on rehires is, I'm all ears. Thanks!
