I drive a 2019 LT and back in August it was run over in a Loves parking lot. After 40grand worth of repair, I finally got my baby back. I noticed that the headlights looked different during the pretrip but I didn't pay a tremendous amount of attention to it. Well I get out on the road and something is really wrong.

When I put the headlights on, the high beams come on. When I put the high beams on, the head lights come on. But when the light switch is off, the high beams are on until you pull the parking brake.

They put a new hood on it but I don't understand why the heck the headlights are all wonky all of a sudden. Both headlights do the same thing and both appear to be new. Please anyone help me.

Sounds like it had daytime headlights wired wrong somehow.

I got the truck back to our yard and decided to pop the hood on an identical truck to take a look. Turns out when they reinstalled the headlights they hooked up the high beam and low beam connectors backwards on BOTH lights. I switched them to match the other truck and they work normally.

Basically the connector that had the label "high beam" on it was not plugged into the back of the bulb in the known location of the high beam headlight.
