still his fault...he saw the blinking yellow light, or at least, he saw the line of traffic...

he rear-ended many, he's at fault.

You may wanna read that story one more time...the log truck hit only one car. Still, though, I'm sure the FHP and/or Escambia Co. Sheriff Dept will still charge the logger for failure to control speed to avoid collision. It'll still a DOT recordable, and re: the previous statement, will also be deemed a preventable charged on the driver and his company. (Ask me how I know all this.)

I'm entirely too familiar with that junction (being that I grew up there and all). That far north, all you deal with are elderly people and out-of-towners; almost none have no clue as to how to properly follow traffic law. Blinking yellow? Keep moving, but be watchful for cross traffic. (I'm hoping that the lights for 97 were blinking red at the same time the lights for 29 malfunctioned). Anyway, the freak-out panic was most likely what caused those four-wheelers to freeze up (because what do four-wheelers do when clueless? Stop.), while logger probably didn't anticipate the dumbness in front of him, but still should've been cognizant of the developing situation in front of him.

    Either way, logger's getting nailed.

jsnell and Bud A. Thank this.

one car, two cars, three cars, like WTF's the difference???

a rear end accident is STILL A REAR END ACCIDENT, that he could have avoided had he paid attention.

i feel no sympathy for the trucker.

Bud A. and lovesthedrive Thank this.

That’s in my neck of the woods, too! Only I disagree with @Buc ’s assessment. Down here, any yellow light means “floor it!”

Must have been northerners (from Tennessee or North Carolina). :p

Just wondering if the other cars also saw a blinking light.
