Does anyone know the true answer if you can transfer a existing apportioned plate in the State of NC? I know in NY we couldn’t, NC website shows transfer of apportioned plate, I can’t find solid info about it though. Just curious if anyone has actually done it. Thanks!

You can in NJ from one truck to another in the same account. IL and IN let the mega companies who supply plates to lease operators transfer them to another unit too.

does any other state 'lock' your title once in their IRP?????

You need to delete it before you sell it. Caught a bunch of people by surprise when it first started.

NJ and RI were the last two states to join the IRP so Trenton gave it the Jersey treatment.

Can you explain how you did this? Was this thru the DMV website or something else.
